For approximately four years, I served as either a project manager, production designer, or both, for various Xbox print and digital marketing projects.
Xbox Live Gold and Xbox Game Pass Templates: I took on the roles of project manager and production for the initial English components of these projects, which then served as the foundation for the ~800 localized production parts.
Code to Content Templates: I held dual responsibilities as both Project Manager (PM) and Production Designer for the creation and yearly updates of the Code to Content templates. These templates were utilized in the production of all globally localized print and digital download code cards, employed by both Microsoft and third-party Xbox game publishers.
Given that thousands of production cards were generated from this template, it was crucial that it be entirely error-free. Furthermore, it had to be immediately comprehensible to the hundreds of publishers worldwide who may not be native English speakers.
First Party Code to Content Games: For first-party Code to Content (C2C) games, I took on the roles of project manager and production.
On the project management side, I facilitated communication between the packaging team at Microsoft, the publisher responsible for providing artwork and logos, and the C2C team in charge of scheduling and collating the title’s requirements. I coordinated translations through an external vendor and followed up with native-speaking legal reviewers to ensure accurate localization of marketing text.
On the production side, I utilized the template to generate between 25 and 32 localized versions of each title, modifying the localized legal text as necessary. I verified that the appropriate age rating was displayed and ensured compliance with the various legal requirements associated with age ratings. I rectified any issues with the supplied artwork, guaranteeing it met Microsoft’s printing specifications.
